Whether you have patrol cruisers sweeping an area for problems, or secured areas that need vehicle access control, Axxon's Enterprise integrated License Plate Recognition module is the answer. For both law enforcement agencies and commercial enterprises, this module is a vital weapon in the fight against crime and terrorism.
The system recognizes and logs car license plates – even on moving vehicles – and compares them to a database of numbers. It also logs all vehicles that pass through a specified zone, records an image of the car and plate, and notes the date, registration time, and direction of each vehicle.
This module is flexible enough for you to set any reaction to any event. Do you want an operator notified by email when an unregistered car enters a particular area? Or do you want an onscreen message when a car tagged ‘VIP' approaches the head office? It's easy to set up.
For automated parking lots, License Plate Recognition saves money and provides even more features. Identify owners, collect payments, and increase security automatically - even locate cars for customers who can't find them.
In early 2013, the management of the St. Petersburg subway system decided to launch a pilot project for rolling out a smart video surveillance system with facial recognition. Ladozhskaya station was chosen to host the trial installation. If successful, the system would be expanded to another 19 stations. The Axxon Intellect PSIM was chosen as the software to tie the system together.
